The operator of the Active Citizens Fund Bulgaria announced a call for project proposals within the anti-crisis measure to overcome the effects of COVID-19. The measure is part of the Small Initiatives Scheme and aims to support the activities and capacity of civil society organizations in the context of the crisis caused by the spread of COVID-19 and its recovery.
Eligible applicants under the small initiatives scheme are civil society organizations / non-governmental organizations registered in Bulgaria as non-profit legal entities (NPOs) under the Law on Non-Profit Legal Entities, designated for public benefit activities (including community centers registered under the Non-Profit Legal Entities Act and the Bulgarian Red Cross).
Eligible applicants can submit project proposals in the six thematic priorities of the program: Improving the democratic culture and civic awareness; Support for human rights; Empowerment of vulnerable groups; Increasing the contribution of civil society organizations to gender equality and preventing gender-based violence; Increasing the commitment of citizens to environmental protection and climate change; Improving the capacity and sustainability of the civil sector, including civil society organizations.
Applicants have the opportunity to receive up to 100% grant funding for their projects. The maximum grant for one project is 10,000 euros.
Eligible direct costs are the costs related to the implementation of the project activities as follows: • Remuneration costs of the project team (under employment and civil contracts) • Voluntary work • Travel costs of the project team and persons outside the project team Project – participants in conferences, trainings, etc.) • Materials and consumables for project activities • Services for project activities • Costs in fulfillment of the requirements of the grant agreement • Depreciation of fixed assets • Purchase of equipment (fixed assets) • Repair costs and reconstruction.
The deadline for submitting project proposals is September 10, 2020 at 17.00.
